Training Yesterday and Today and something new...
Today - July 2
Squats 405 x 5, add knee wraps x 5
425 x 5,5 with knee wraps
315 x 5 paused
Bench 315 x 1+, 1+, 1+
First session with the knee wraps - very odd.
Bench was singles at 315 with a forced rep after each single.
Yesterday - July 01
Sunday - Mow lawn for warm up
40kg KB for all drills except the pistols
Windmill x 3 r+L
MP 3 sets of 2 reps r+L
One arm row 3 x 5 r+L
SLDL 3 x 5 r+L
Pistols 8kg KB x 3 x 3 r+L
Snatches 4 sets of 3 reps each arm
Basically ran out of time but did enjoy the KB work - really need to keep this up for balance in the routine.
The knee wraps were very odd - not sure how they are going to affect my form but did feel good enough to go 20# heavier on my sets of 5. I am going to try to continue to do the first set of each workout without wraps to maintain the feel.

ahh, welcome to the dark side. they do take a bit of getting used to. enjoy!
oh yeah, so nice to seeing you throwing around some kbs too.
Brett,
8kg pistols? What gives?
Thanks Rif - Very weird and I didn't even have them wrapped tight. Going to keep that first set without wraps for better carryover.
Fawn - it's been about 2 years since I could really train pistols and I am just trying to groove the form and get better at my bodyweight pistols.
Personally, I don't wrap me knees very tight at all. I use the wraps more to maintain knee stability then anything else. However, some people claim a 50+ pound increase from a tight wrap! I think they help a close stance squatter much more so then a wide stance squatter like myself.
Bench shirts, knee wraps....you are dancing dangerously close to the power lines Brett...

Forced reps? What are you hoping to accomplish with these? This sounds like it may be sarcastic, but it's not--it's an honest question--remember, small shed...
loose knee wraps are good for lighter weights. when it gets close to 101% RM wrap em tight.they help quite a bit.
if you wraps them for wide stance squatting they will help with that style as well.
Rick,
Dangerously close my friend - but I am easing into it and my next meet is a raw meet (AAU worlds in Orlando). Great lifting at your meet!
Geoff,
Basically the forced rep is done the right way - just enough help to finish the rep in good form - trying to get more time under a heavier weight for my bench.
